Biography Judith Bell

Judith Bell has been Director of Tavistock Consulting in London since 2008 and runs a Professional Doctorate programme in Consulting to Organisations. She is a Chartered Psychologist, organisational consultant and executive coach and works in the corporate sector  up to board level with senior leaders and managers with a focus on inter-personal, group and organisational dynamics. Judith has worked throughout the UK and internationally in finance organisations and global FMCGs; in healthcare, education, legal services and the creative industries; and in local and national government. Judith qualified in 1984 as a clinical psychologist and then completed an advanced training in psychotherapeutic work with children and young people at the Tavistock Clinic.

She has also studied systemic psychotherapy at the Institute of Family Therapy and holds a Doctorate degree in Psychology. Her doctoral research focussed on the therapeutic use of story telling and contributed to an evaluation of narrative based therapies for young people. Judith was previously Director of the Tavistock Programme in Executive Coaching and she is a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, serving on the EMCC standards committee while the coaching profession was establishing its codes of ethics and practice. She is an experienced teacher and trainer in group work and consultation and is currently course director of the Tavistock Professional Doctorate in Consulting to Organisations. When she isn’t directing Tavistock Consulting, she can often be found playing soprano and alto sax in a contemporary world music big band.
